Shooter Arrested Months After Murder In Baltimore, Police Say

More than three months after a Baltimore man was gunned down, city police say that they’ve made an arrest of the possible shooter.

Kerin Aviles-Alvarez, 20, was arrested following an investigation into the death of 21-year-old Edgar Bonilla on Eastern Avenue in April.

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 3, members of the Baltimore Police Department found Bonilla suffering from multiple gunshot wounds following an incident in the 6300 block of Eastern Avenue.

He was rushed to an area hospital and later died from the injuries..

It is believed that Aviles-Alvarez shot Bonilla, though no motive has been provided by the police. He was arrested in the 300 block of Hornel Street without incident, the agency announced on Wednesday, July 19.

Aviles-Alvarez was charged with first-degree murder and multiple weapon offenses at the Central Booking Intake Facility. No information about his next court appearance was announced by the department.
